Security Tech Innovator Lends Industry Expertise Across Multiple Vegas Events Those dial lights always jumped around.4 th YEAR: Las Vegas Apartment Renews Knightscope K5 Contract I agree the cheapest timing light always worked best with the MSD. You could weld with the arc from the plug wire. Always one of the accessories would crap out like Two-step or Multi-step timing computer but never the box. I've use a Mallory and MSD distributors and crank triggers and never had a problem with the box. I've run MSD on all my race cars since 1988 and never had a box go out. The switching wire thing does work but I dont suggest it for a long term repair just for testing. ![]() I think they just said that to make me think there box wasn't bad. No charge! I know for sure it didnt work because I had that new back-up box that did work and when I changed them out to make sure the problem came back but then MSD says no problem. So I sent the one that didn't work correctly to MSD for repairs with an explanation of the problem after a week I got it back UPS with a note "found nothing wrong" and when I put it back on the car it worked. I had a multi-step retard box that wasn't working correctly and I had a back up box that worked. MSD is a great company, they will work with you untill your happy if thats possible. ![]() Please if you would what's the timing suposed to be for a stock 68 327 any one have any other Info? should I time it differently with the aftermarket Ignition box I still have the stock distributor with an MSD cap to connect the coil With the vac adv connected its way off the scale but id say 30-32* still feels very hesitent to me with the VAC adv plugged 16* and all in about 22-24* (its off the scale im taking a guess) 3000 rpm. ![]() fast forward to this weekend connect the battery fresh gas.car fired right up (hot cold.dosent matter fires right up first time every time )Īll the Info I've seen on the MSD website about timing says set it to the manufactures specs. (hard to start when cold and would lope when hot trying to start it ) So while the motor was out I put in new timing gears and a chain. Īnyone who remembers my last posts will know I've always felt I had a timing issue with this car. Well I was busy this summer, Pulled the 327 and Transmission out of the vette Finally got the tranny rebuilt and Put an MSD 6AL ignition box, blaster 2 coil and wires :thumbup. ![]()
